How We Review Products
We evaluate workspace products by combining documented information with practical buying considerations for UAE readers. Hands-on testing and desk research are different methods, and we make that distinction clear.
Unless an article explicitly describes testing that was performed, its evaluation should be understood as research-based. Illustrative images do not prove that a product was owned or tested.
1. Define the reader’s needs
We start with the task, space and buyer: home working, professional use, study, gaming or creating. Room size, budget, daily use and compatibility shape the shortlist. We avoid treating a premium product or a high commission as proof that it is the right choice.
2. Build a relevant shortlist
Products should have a clear workspace purpose and a plausible route to purchase for UAE buyers. Availability, delivery coverage and seller information are checked where the guide relies on them. A listing outside the UAE is not treated as proof of local stock or warranty coverage.
3. Check important specifications
We prioritise manufacturer documentation and relevant UAE retailer listings. Where sources disagree or an important detail cannot be established, the limitation should be stated rather than silently resolved by guesswork.
- Chairs: dimensions, seat-height range, adjustability, materials, stated load limits and warranty information.
- Desks: usable width and depth, stated load limits, storage, assembly and stability-related design features.
- Standing desks: height range, controls, frame design and documented electrical requirements.
- Accessories and lighting: device compatibility, adjustability, footprint, mounting or connection requirements and documented power specifications.
4. Compare practical advantages and limitations
We consider fit for purpose, space efficiency, adjustability, compatibility, build features, ease of setup and value for the intended buyer. Product facts are kept separate from editorial judgements.
Pros, cons and “best for” labels should be supported by the available evidence. A label does not guarantee that the product will suit every body, room or workflow. We do not publish an unexplained score or fabricate a customer star rating.
5. Consider UAE buying conditions
Relevant checks include delivery across the emirates, who fulfils the order, local returns, who honours the warranty, assembly services and whether dimensions suit the available room. These conditions can vary by seller and order.
For powered equipment, buyers should confirm the actual unit’s voltage, plug and installation requirements. A similar model sold in another country may have different specifications.
6. Handle prices and reviews carefully
Prices and stock can change quickly. We use approved methods for current affiliate pricing, or clearly explained price bands when appropriate. The price and conditions shown by the retailer at checkout take priority.
Customer reviews may highlight recurring themes, but they are not our own tests. We do not copy a retailer’s star rating as an independent WorkspaceWorth score, and individual reviews do not establish a product claim as fact.
7. Describe any hands-on testing
If a product is tested, the article should say which model was used, what was assessed, the conditions and duration of use, and relevant limitations. A brief inspection is not presented as long-term durability testing. A sample’s origin or a commercial relationship should be disclosed.
8. Review and update
Guides should be revisited when important specifications, availability, pricing methods or recommendations change. Where an item becomes unavailable, a replacement should be assessed using the same relevant criteria. Readers can report issues at info@workspaceworth.com.
